those STRIPPED performances are incredible, especially OVERCOME!

there is so much more to a show than pure performance, though. no one has the passion that scott has!

that's because a heavy dose of post-production pitch correction has been applied to those recordings. it's obvious if you are familiar with the technology. i work in a studio and we do it all the time with artists who come in. the main reason we do it is to save time (and therefore money) for the artists who are paying for the studio time. they run through a vocal 2 or 3 times and we clean it up, rather than spending days working with the artist to record a perfect vocal. if you are familiar with the artist t-pain, his "robot voice" technique is basically what i'm talking about, albeit to a much more extreme degree.

but i digress... scott is obviously working through some issues with his voice. i think he still sounds pretty good but he has trouble holding notes on pitch, whereas in the past this wasn't a problem for him. i think it might be from years of vocal wear and tear as he always had a very resonant growl. voices change just as our bodies do as they age. many artists adapt to it and i'm confident scott will do the same. he's an incredible talent.

I am a fan who is also concerned abouts Scotts voice. I had the same problem like Scott about a year ago and the Doctors explanation for the problem is that I used my voice to much on singing thus calluses formed on my voice box causing me not to reach the notes which I was able to do in the past. I went to some sort of voice recovery treatment and the result was good.

I know Scott knew the problem and I am sure he will do the necessary action to provide us, his fans more rocking experience!!!!

I am praying for him and his family and Godbless him more!

    Remember Guys.!

The beauty is with in the whole performance and not with the voice alone......

    SCOTT RULES!!!!

First off, I saw Creed in Sioux city Iowa last month and Scott was amazing. There was no post-production pitch correction. He was about 90% of his former self. He had trouble with some of the higher notes but other than that he was on pitch all night and put on one heck of a performance. He was about 60% last year so I know he is on the road to full recovery.

If you listen to the more recent performances, the unplugged shows he did toward the end of last year - the voice is strong and clear. The improvement has been amazing. Our Scotty is sounding better than ever. I pray for you every day brother... we want you around and creating for many, many years to come. But, yeah, the voice has come "Full Circle," IMO. lol

Yeah brother! I think we have yet to see the full potential of his vocal range and power. He has also greatly matured as a human being. I am certain that will reflect very powerfully in the music and lyrics. Scott Stapp is becoming a tremendous artist in every sense of the word. :-)

Scott won't ever sound like He once did back in the first 3 Albums. Remember he's gone through 2 tumors as well as lesions on his chords. when that happens you're very fortunate to be able to sing at all. God has blessed Stapp over the yrs and has done vocal exercises to strenghten His vocal chords, which has help Him a lot. At times he will struggle somewhat, With this said, Stapp sounds very well & the new Album will not disappoint.
Stay warm if you're in the cold, which most of you are! I'm currently in Dallas awaiting the Super bowl & it's quite chilly here but forcasted to warm up a bit this weekend. Go Packers! Not a huge Packer fan but I believe they are more talented than the Steelers.
I cry out to God seeking only His decision.

Hahaha!! Good one!! =) That's fine with me, I really don't care what I'm called. =)

I'm use to being called many other names as well. I get Michelle ALOT! Melanie, Missy (which I CAN'T stand) but I'll roll with it and let it be known, that's not acceptable! LOL! I just say, call me "M" or whatever works! =) No big deal, it's just a name. =)
